From 1959 to 2017, how things have changed.

How things have changed!

Back in 1959 Ron Smith Printing began serving the printing needs of Central Illinois from its new plant located on the east edge of downtown, at 817 E. Front street. The new plant offered several new types of printing services to our community. The first business forms web offset printing press and the first thermographic raised printing process were a couple of the new services offered by our plant. Over the years our business grew at a steady rate until in the 1990’s we found ourselves located in 4 separate facilities, just to contain the equipment needed to facilitate our growing graphics products line. In 1997 we made the decision to consolidate all manufacturing process into one building again and we relocated our plant to the south side of Bloomington onto a seven acre tract with a 30,000 square foot plant with plenty of room to grow, under one roof at last! We've been at 2425 S. Main St. for 20 years this summer.

By 2005, the digital age had taken over a great deal of the printing industry and Ron Smith Printing starting adding digital presses to its manufacturing capabilities, to service the growing demands for high quality color printing projects. In 2016 we installed our first C 1100 digital press to compliment our C7000 digital presses. This press allows for higher image quality, faster operation, more versatile paper handling and finishing capabilities and a greater speed of up to 110 pages per minute. With the installation of the C 1100 we can now offer full color digital printing from 4 high quality digital presses. We continue to add equipment and services as the industry changes and hope to continue for many years to come.

It's all thanks to you, our customers that we're nearing our 60th anniversary and continue to grow and thrive with our community.
